OpxKit documentation

Getting started, using kits, and the OpxKit verification process.

Getting Started

What is OpxKit?

OpxKit is a store for verified infrastructure kits: Terraform code, architecture notes, docs and example configuration packaged as a single versioned foundation.

How kits work

Each kit is a repository you own after download. Modules live under modules/, environments under envs/, and docs under docs/.

Installing a kit

Download the archive, initialise Terraform with your backend, copy an example tfvars file and run terraform plan.

Using Kits

Configuration

All inputs are documented in variables.tf and example tfvars. Region, environment and naming are set per environment.

Deployment

Run plan and apply from your CLI or pipeline. Kits never deploy on your behalf.

Customization

Extend or replace modules. Keep changes isolated to simplify future upgrades.

Updates

Each release includes a changelog and upgrade notes. Versions follow semver.

Verification

OpxKit verification

Verified kits pass validation, deployment, destroy, security scanning and documentation review before release.

Security

Static scanning runs against every release. Findings are fixed or documented with rationale.

Testing

Each version is deployed to a clean account and destroyed to confirm a clean teardown.
